Saturday November 6th

BST 15:00 Crystal Palace vs Wolves

Starting with Saturday s hosts, putting in a hugely impressive performance last weekend, there is no doubt that Crystal Palace will find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Shocking almost everyone across the Premier League as they stormed their way to a 2-0 victory away at defending champions Manchester City, the Eagles have enjoyed an eye-catching start to the 2021/22 campaign. While the south London outfit might have struggled to pick up maximum points…

Italy v Turkey: Mancini´s new-look Azzurri look to capitalise on Olimpico record to end Euros drough

Italy will hope their excellent record at the Stadio Olimpico can propel them towards Euro 2020 glory in Roberto Mancini s first tournament as coach, with a tricky test against Turkey first up for the competition s curtain-raiser on Friday.

It has been all change for Italy since their failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, with Mancini installed as Gian Piero Ventura s replacement and tasked with restoring the Azzurri s reputation.

What they hope will help is the fact all three of their group games – and a quarter-final – will be played at Rome s Stadio Olimpico, where they have never lost (W6 2D) in eight matches at major tournaments, while the Azzurri were one of just two teams along with Belgium to win all of their 10 qualifiers.

Of course, Italy wrapp…

Germany squad needed shake-up after Nations League nightmare

Germany boss Joachim Low caused a stir with his announcement of his latest national team squad. Only three players remain from the squad that won the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil. The only three players Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos and Matthias Ginter were in that World Cup-winning squad.

That could be explained by the passing of five years. However, that squad was a relatively young one. In addition, only just over half the World Cup 2018 squad have made Die Mannschaft’s latest squad to take on Serbia and The Netherlands.

Low had to change things after recent nightmares

German head coach Joachim Low was under immense pressure after the former World Cup champions not only endured a nightmare World Cup campaign but also suffered relegation in the Nations League.

Gulf between Reds and Blues laid bare to devastating effect as Liverpool pile misery on Benitez and

The Everton fans who had bravely bothered to stick around until full-time of Wednesday s derby-day surrender to Liverpool made their voices heard in no uncertain times.

Sack the board was the chant aimed in the direction of the directors boxes, with chairman Bill Kenwright and director of football Marcel Brands bearing the brunt of the ire from the disgruntled Toffees faithful.

Conversely, there were plenty of songs of support for Everton boss Rafa Benitez – the only issue being they were songs of joy from a buoyant Liverpool away end keen to serenade their legendary former manager as his present employers were ruthlessly dismantled 4-1 at Goodison Park.

The exodus of home fans began from 20 minutes, by which time Reds captain Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Sala…

Robinho to join Istanbul Basaksehir title tilt

Istanbul Basaksehir have announced the signing of former Brazil star Robinho, who joins their push for a first Turkish Super Lig title.

Robinho has scored eight goals for Sivasspor in the Super Lig this season, with only two players more prolific in the division in 2018-19.

And the former AC Milan and Real Madrid forward will now join ex-Manchester City team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor at Basaksehir, who are six points clear in top spot.

Robinho joined Sivasspor from Atletico Mineiro in January despite being sentenced to nine years in prison just two months earlier for an alleged incident of group sexual assault on a 22-year-old woman involving five other men in January 2013.

The 34-year-old entered a not-guilty plea and denies the charges, with the c…

Spain v Georgia: Vazquez prepares for debut after rapid rise

Lucas Vazquez is set to make his Spain debut against Georgia in the country s final warm-up match before they attempt to defend their continental title at Euro 2016.

The Real Madrid attacker is uncapped, but has been named in Vicente del Bosque s final squad of 23 for the tournament in France as well as being handed the number nine shirt.

After a spell with Espanyol last season, Vazquez returned to Madrid where he had risen through the youth ranks but never made a first-team appearance – last June.

Under a year later, the 24-year-old is a Champions League winner having come on and scored in the penalty shoot-out of the final against Atletico Madrid and is now in line to represent his country for the first time on Tuesday.

Spain won the Euros in 2008 and…

Prediction: Everton vs Manchester City

Verdict: Manchester City win and both teams to score

Bookmaker:

With Pep Guardiola s side handed the chance to reclaim top spot, Manchester City will travel to Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

Everton

Starting with Wednesday s hosts, coming off the back of yet another worrying display in their 3-1 loss away at Wolves over the weekend, the pressure is really mounting on Marco Silva. While Everton might still just be holding onto their position in the top half of the table, their form entering the New Year has left a lot to the imagination. Now losing three of their last four matches across all competitions, including crashing out of the FA Cup at the hands of Championship outfit Millwall, the Toffees European dreams are dwindling by th…

Bale to leave Real Madrid?

According to a recent report from Marca, Spanish giants Real Madrid are preparing to let Gareth Bale leave the Bernabeu during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Welshman, who has had a mixed tenure with the club since joining back in 2013, could be used as part of Real’s scheme to sign either Christian Eriksen or Eden Hazard. If that proves to be the case, then it’d mark a somewhat unlikely return to the Premier League for Bale – who is set to turn 30 this July.

Bale’s current contract doesn’t expire until 2022, but the report suggests that he is now being viewed as expendable.

Arguably Gareth’s finest moment in the famous white shirt came during last year’s Champions League Final, when he scored twice to help Real to lift the trophy against Liverpo…

Dawson in demand

A number of clubs are considering a move for West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson, according to the Mirror.

Burnley, West Ham United and Championship champions Wolverhampton Wanders are all looking at the twenty-seven year old, who has been at the Hawthorns for the past seven seasons having signed from Rochdale in 2010.

He has racked up one hundred and seventy-eight appearances for the Midlands outfit in all competitions, scoring twelve goals.

He has played twenty-six times in the league for the Baggies this season but has as yet been unable to steer them to safety.

Internationally, he was capped fifteen times for England’s U21s, scoring six goals while he was also part of Great Britain’s squad for the 2012 Olympic Games.
